MoneySupermarket: Big Night In

MoneySupermarket are holding another fantastic competition as they believe (and I agree) that staying in is the new going out and they would like to see how us bloggers would spend £50 on a night in, courtesy of them. Those who take part will also be entered into a draw to win £500!! To find out more, clickety click right here while there is still time for you to join in too!
I had a couple of ideas when I was contacted about taking part but after a very stressful day Friday (Aaron came home with flowers for me to cheer me up and he hasn't done that in about 2 years!) I knew what I'd like to spend it on. Another reason I chose to do what I did is because me and Aaron sat down last week and decided we need more quality time together away from his Xbox and my laptop and phone so this came at the perfect time!
We decided to have a cosy, chilled out night in Saturday night with no Xbox or laptops which had become a very rare thing, sadly.. I was allowed my phone whilst The Voice was on so I could Tweet about it but that was it! We bought 2 DVDs (Ted for before The Voice and Twilight BDP2 for after!), Haribo, chocolate, wine, cider, bag of treats for the kitties and a lovely colour changing scented candle and ordered in a Chinese takeaway so we didn't have to cook! As you know, we have been doing Slimming World but decided to have a massive blow out for one night.. We're back on track now though.

Twilight BDP2 was brilliant! Ted.. wasn't.
We hadn't had alcohol in months so this was such a treat! :)
Yummy Chinese :) Couldn't eat it all though!
Tiff & Aaron love it so, the happy world of Haribo!
Mmmmmmmmm :) nom nom nom!
Couldn't leave our babies out could we!
Vinnie, Chester and Braxton.. Chester licking his chops!
Loved this candle! Will be another when we go shopping!
In my comfies! :)
My best tips for having a great night in are:
- Get comfy! PJs, fluffy socks and a big wooly cardi are a must for me!
- Don't cook! Who wants to cook when you're trying to have a lovely night in?!
If it's a cosy night in like mine:
- Get chocolate! It's not the same without it!
- Grab a blanket/throw/duvet! To snuggle up with of course.
- Light a candle. They add to the cosyness and make the house smell lush!

Thank you Money Supermarket for supplying us with £50 to spend on a night in - We haven't had a cosy night in with quality time together in absolutely ages so it was just heaven! xxx

Hello, I'm marmite!

Yesterday me and Aaron were in the car on the way to his mum and dads talking about the way I talk. He's always taken the mickey out of how I pronounce things because I have quite a Suffolk country bumpkin twang, haha! On top of that, I've grown up in a family that are very lazy when it comes to pronouncing all the letters in words so naturally, I am and sound as far from posh as you can get however I think I am one of the worst in the family! I can't help it, I've always spoken the way I do and it's who I am, what makes me.. me.

I have seen quite a few times over blogs and Twitter, people saying they hate when people don't pronounce words correctly or use "proper" english. In a way it annoys me because I can't help it, I've always done it, everyone around me does it and I'm not willing to pretend to be someone I'm not. Just because you pronounce your words as they should be, does not make you better than me and certainly doesn't give you the right to look down your nose at me and judge me for it. We're all human, we all have feelings.

I might have grown up in a council house, worn hand-me-downs as a kid, done badly at school, not have a job right now and not be well spoken but I'm a decent person - I'm very loving, caring and loyal to all those who treat me the same. If you're good to me, I will always be good to you but it has to work both ways. I'm also very polite, please and thank yous don't hurt anyone and I think these qualities are worth a lot more than how good my speech/english is!

I feel like the people who do judge me and look down their nose at me because of the way I talk are those who are a lot more well to do than I am. "Posh" people, those who have a hell of a lot more money than I'll ever have, those who can afford expensive things.. Those who were brought up into a family that lived very comfortably, bought their house, had a nice car, had good holidays every year.. The kind of people that would never be friends with me in a million years simply because they're more "upper class" if you like.

We've come from different backgrounds and have different futures mapped out. We speak differently, we don't have the same amount of money in the bank and we don't have the same kinds of clothes, holidays or cars but we're both people who deserve not to be judged for anything before you get to know us. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't judge a book by it's cover.

Soap and Glory - Peaches and Clean: My Bad Experience.

Let me get this out there straight away - I don't dislike Soap and Glory in any way and I'm by no means slating them or this product at all.. I absolutely love every other product of theirs I have (there's quite a few too!), it's just this one - Peaches and Clean - that didn't agree with me, unfortunately.
I've seen a lot of positive reviews on this product but none where people have had a bad reaction like I did. I was aware before purchasing this product that it's quite active and might not be one for those with sensitive skin.. I never saw myself as someone with sensitive skin though as I've never had a bad experience with any other product I've ever tried.

I splashed my face with luke warm water then put a pea sized amount on and massaged it in with the tips of my fingers all over. As soon as I'd finished covering my face I noticed it started to feel unusually warm so I washed it straight off, again with my hands and luke warm water. I dabbed my face dry with a towel, as I always do and when I looked in the mirror my heart started racing and I shouted to Aaron. By this point my face felt like it was burning and I was really worried. Aaron said to rinse my face a couple more times just to make sure I'd got it all off so I did. He calmed me down cause I was in a panic, having never experienced anything like this happening before.

All I could do was keep staring at my face, it was red raw all over (apart from the little bits around my eyes!) and so hot, as you can see. All I could do was sit in bed hoping it didn't look that way in the morning! I checked my face again 45 minutes later, it had started to go down a tiny bit and by morning all the redness was gone. PHEW!

In fairness, it smells great and my face felt as soft as a babies bum but I didn't notice a difference in my pores and the fact my face looked and felt like a warm strawberry an hour after using it more than put me off using it again! I still use the Scrub Your Nose In It face scrub and mask, The Fab Pore facial peel and Clear Here moisturiser on my face on a regular basis and have never experienced any redness.
I also love, have and currently use: Clean On Me body wash, Sugar Crush body wash, Scrub Of Your Life body buffer, Mist You Madly body spray, Hand Food hand cream and Hand Maid anti-bac.

Please remember that everybody has different skin and what works for one, may not work for another and vise versa. You can purchase Soap and Glory - Peaches and Clean here.

Have you tried this product? - How did you get on? xxx

What's In My Handbag? And How Much Does It Cost?

Admit it, you love to be nosey sometimes.. Who doesn't!? And that includes the blog posts on what people have in their make up or handbags. Money Supermarket don't just want to know what's in our handbags but how much it's all worth too because apparently the average handbag plus it's belongings adds up to an average of £850! Share your handbag and it's belongings (with a total price) and you could be in with a chance of winning a Mulberry Bayswater handbag, purse and phone case. Plus 6 runners up will receive £25 ASOS vouchers. Awesome, right? For all the details, click right here! :)

Bessie Handbag Ebay
My "Bessie" shoulder bag.
When I lived at home, the only handbags I'd own were Guess ones. I loved the style and how great I felt with it on my arm. The only trouble was, they didn't last long before they'd start fraying or falling apart and then I'd have to buy a new one. As you can imagine, this got quite expensive. After a few years I decided I might aswel buy cheaper bags and have more of them and it turns out they last just as long and cost much less! Yay :) So the bag I'm currently using, pictured above, is by "Bessie" ?! and was a bargain at £10 off Ebay, brand new.

The contents of my bag.
I'm generally a very organised and tidy person so I was quite suprised to find old receipts and a train ticket in my bag because I'd usually bin them but in my defence, they were zipped neatly in the side compartment, haha :) I try not to carry too much around with me, I hate if my bag feels heavy.

2 booklets of bus timetables for my area, couple of receipts and a train ticket, halls minty thingys, note pad and pen, earrings and my keys.
I rarely use the bus so I haven't ever got a clue what times they run so I need timetables for when I'm home or in my home town. A note pad and pen is a must, is it not? I'd much rather write things down on paper than on my phone, I don't know why. If I have my hair up (which is most of the time) I cannot bear to not have earrings in so I try to always have some in my bag incase I forget!

Studs Primark studded clutch htc
My purse, phone and another bag.
I love my purse.. I love pink and love studs. It's from New Look.. I love New Look too. My phone is a HTC Wildfire S. It's not brand spankin new, I don't need a fancy phone. It does, however, have the BEST case (rilakkuma bear!) and isn't an iphone so it's a winner for me! The studded bag is (from Primark) full of small essentials that I don't want chucked in the bottom of my bag..

Soap and Glory Real Techniques 17 Revlon Batiste
The contents of the studded bag.
Pink and purple cat plasters are essential for cuts and blisters.. Any excuse really ;) I'm prone to headaches and migraines unfortunately so I can never leave the house without headache tablets cause when they come, they come strong :(  A small brush for my unruely hair, a nail file, some form of smelly spray, hand cream, hand sanitiser, dry shampoo and hair bobbles are also essentials. The only make up bits I take with me are for a quick top up.. a pressed or loose powder and a brush plus whatever I'm wearing on my lips that day. I usually have a packet of tissues too (I'd run out there but have replaced them now) so I'm going to include them in the pricing up!

BESSIE BAG: £10.00
HALLS MINTS: 75p
NOTE BOOK: 60p
PEN: 25p
EARRINGS: £3.99
KEYRINGS: £6.50

Wowzers! I knew it wouldn't even be half the average but didn't think it would be quite that low either, haha! I'm quite impressed with myself though.
Do you like to carry everything with you or like me, do you just take the essentials? xxx

I'm Back! Here's Why I Was Away..

Anybody that's been following me a while will know that I changed my blogs name/URL etc a little while ago. I felt I needed to do this in order to be happy with my blog myself as "xtiffyxx" was just pissing me off. It did work initially, I loved how my blog was looking and with my new camera, my pictures were much better but unfortunately as soon as I changed my blog name my views and comments went right out the window and nothing I posted seemed to make a difference which is such a rubbish feeling as I'm sure you can imagine.

I knew my stuff wouldn't show up in Google right away but for the people that are/were following me via GFC or BlogLovin', my posts were still showing on their feed, just under a different name and nobody seemed to read or comment on my posts anymore. This made me feel that my content wasn't good enough and nobody was interested in reading what I had to say which really got to me and I started to feel like I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore. If nobody was reading, what was the point?

I toyed with the idea of deleting my blog completely and starting a brand new one on WordPress. I also toyed with just not blogging again. Then I thought about it more and come to a conclusion. Don't give up! I enjoy blogging, why should I stop? Not only that, if I want views, comments and an audience then I need to make it happen not just sit and hope people find me.
I need to join in with the chats on Twitter more. Infact, I need to use Twitter more full stop. I also need to comment more on other peoples blogs because it works both ways. I know I'm not the only one to notice not many people seem to leave comments as much anymore so I need to remember that and not keep thinking my blog is crap. Well, it might be to some but even after a year, I still feel like I'm learning so much and still trying to find my feet.

So from now on I vow to use Twitter more, I'm going to comment a lot lot lot more on other peoples blogs and I'm going to keep being myself because that's all I can be. I'm also going to start taking my camera out with me so I have more things to write about.. I've had it since Christmas and it's never left the house! Duh.

I've really missed my blog and can't wait to get stuck in again and I'm jumping straight back in with a new layout/design and some new ideas. Watch this space!
Gosh, that was all very long and boring wasn't it. Oh well, it's not called Tiffany Talks for nothing hahaha ;) xxx
